who we are
CARE AND SUPPORT IN SUNDERLAND
Diamond Home Care Services provide a wide range of quality services for people who require care and support, for one or more reasons, across the SR2, SR3 and SR4 geographical areas of Sunderland.
Our service treats all those we support as valued members of society, and we strive to promote privacy, dignity, independence, opportunity and inclusion.
Our aim is for our customers to maintain healthy, happy lives with choice, independence and autonomy, (wherever possible), and live their lives to their fullest potential within any limitations they may have.
supporting older people
Diamond Home Care Services recognise that older people have led very varied lives in times that were very different to what they are today. Some will have led quite ordinary and/or sedentary lives whilst others’ lives will have been a little more harsh or colourful. Regardless of which, all these people will have their own memories and their own stories to tell.
Several of our older customers live on their own and although some have their families visiting and/or caring for them some of the time, they enjoy reliving their memories and talking to people outside of their family unit. For those who do not see their families often, our support staff may be the only visitors they have. This can often make a difference to their feeling of well-being even if it is just once or twice a week.
Supporting People with Special Needs
Just the same as people without Special Needs, people with special needs have the right to live a happy and fulfilled life and enjoy dignity and respect from others. They have their own likes and dislikes, their own preferences, hobbies, interests and circle of friends.
Diamond Home Care Services facilitate and enable them to access these choices whilst maintaining existing friendships/relationships and developing new ones. We encourage people to experience new things and take up new opportunities that arise, whether that be social, educational, leisure or indeed employment.
Caring for the Carers
If you are a full-time carer or spend a lot of time caring for another person, it is important to make time for yourself too; both for the sake of your own health and well-being and to give you the energy to carry on caring. Having a break doesn’t mean you are letting down the person you care for, more that it is sensible to have time to rest, catch up with friends and pursue your own interests.
Diamond Home Care Services can provide support staff to take some of the caring role off your shoulders in order for you to take a well-earned break and in the knowledge that your loved one is safe and their needs are being met.
Services we can provide to you or your loved one:
- Personal Care/Hygiene and Continence Care
- Food & fluid preparation and support with eating and drinking
- Light household duties e.g changing bed linen, keeping kitchen tidy, etc
- Support with medications and application of creams
- Welfare checks
- Community activities e.g. shopping, social outings, support with socialising, meeting people, visiting friends and maintaining personal relationships

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY ABOUT US
Two years ago, my life changed completely due to illness, and I was unable to see to my own needs. I feel I am so lucky to have Diamond Home Care Services looking after me. They have seen to my needs, helped and encouraged me, cheered me up when I felt down and I look forward to seeing them every day.
